Please contact the walk leader if you haven't walked with our Group before or would prefer to travel to the start of the walk rather than the meet point.
Car sharing/ lifts: We encourage members to share lifts to and from walks. If you wish to make a voluntary contribution towards the driver’s expenses we suggest £2 per passenger as reasonable for return journeys of up to half an hour each way, increased pro rata for longer journeys. Call the Leader in advance if you wish to go straight to the start of the walk. Don't forget a clean change of footwear and a bag for dirty boots.
Journey planning: There are a variety of navigation devices and applications to guide you to the start of the walk (e.g. TomTom and Garmin satnavs, Google Maps, Waze), but you may also find this site useful to avoid roadworks, road closures and diversions on your journey: https://roadworks.org/
Car parking: When parking please consider the needs of residents and the local community. Where appropriate, seek permission, and consider making a financial contribution.
Refreshments: Unless stated, our All Day walks require drinks and a packed lunch for the day. When we are able to eat in a pub garden, please ensure you buy a drink at the bar to maintain goodwill.
Dogs: No dogs, please, other than registered assistance dogs, or on our numerous dog friendly walks.
Non-members: You are welcome to walk with us 2-3 times after which we expect you to support the Ramblers by becoming a member. Please ask the leader for an Application Form, join on-line at www.ramblers.org.uk, or call the membership team on 020 3961 3232 during weekday office hours.
