How it all started

North Herts Ramblers and Stevenage Rambling Club worked together and jointly produced walks programmes, organised social events and holidays.
Stevenage Rambling Club started in 1969 and ceased to exist in 2007, when all its members moved to North Herts Ramblers.
The early walks programmes had walks mainly on Sundays as you can see in 'Our Old Walks Programmes' table below. The more recent walks programmes have more than double the walks of the earlier years.

Did you know

First GPS article in our newsletter was in Spring 2004 edition. 'An Introduction to GPS - Boy's toys or girl's gadgets?' e-walks followed 8 years later.
First dog walk 15 May 2011. Did not really take off till Jenny Mason took over a few months later.
STOOP opening 20 September 2008.
HOOP opening 5 August 2010.
Our first www.nhrg.org.uk website first appeared during the Spring of 2008.
